Managing Your BIR Online Tools Profile

Editing your profile in BIR Online Tools means updating the display name and avatar shown in your own sidebar and account menu — not your company’s registration details, which live under Company Info instead. The Profile page is reachable from the account menu at the bottom of the sidebar.
This guide is part of the App Guide series. It covers the two editable fields on the Profile page and the one field you can’t change there.

The Profile page, under Edit Profile, has three fields: display name, email, and an avatar URL — but only two of them are editable. The screenshot below shows the page with a display name already filled in.

Display name #
Your display name appears next to your avatar in the sidebar and account menu. Type a new value into the Display name field and click Save profile to update it.
Avatar #
Paste an image URL into the Avatar URL field to use it as your avatar. Leave it blank and BIR Online Tools falls back to a circular badge built from your display name’s initials — shown as “JD” for Juan Dela Cruz in the example above.
Email (read-only) #
The Email field is greyed out and cannot be edited from this page — it’s managed by your sign-in method (password or Google) rather than a profile setting, since changing it would need to re-verify a new address against however you originally signed up.
How do you save changes? #
Edit the display name or avatar URL field, then click Save profile. BIR Online Tools confirms the update with a toast notification, and the new name and avatar appear immediately in the sidebar.
Frequently asked questions #
Can I change my email address from the Profile page? #
No. The email field on the Profile page is read-only because it is managed by your sign-in method — changing it requires a different flow tied to how you authenticate, not a simple form edit.
What does the avatar URL field do? #
Pasting an image URL into the Avatar URL field displays that image as your avatar in the sidebar and account menu; leaving it blank shows a fallback avatar built from the initials of your display name instead.
Is my display name visible to other people? #
Your display name appears in your own sidebar and account menu within BIR Online Tools. It is not shown on generated BIR Form 2307 certificates or DAT files, which use your company’s registered name and signatory details instead.
Summary #
The Profile page covers two editable fields — display name and an optional avatar URL — plus a read-only email field tied to your sign-in method. For your company’s registration details instead, see Managing Company Profiles; for plan and storage details, see Plans, Billing, and Storage.
