Managing Saved DAT Files in the DAT Repository

The DAT Repository is where BIR Online Tools keeps every DAT file you’ve generated from QAP, SAWT, and RELIEF for the active company, organized by module and form so you can find, re-download, or remove a specific filing period without regenerating it. This guide covers how the repository is organized and what each action does.

This guide is part of the App Guide series. Files appear here automatically — see QAP, SAWT, or RELIEF if you haven’t generated a DAT file yet.

How are saved files organized? #

Files are grouped first by module — QAP, SAWT, or RELIEF — shown as tabs with a count badge, then by form within that module (each form’s saved files sit in their own collapsible section). This keeps a busy repository navigable once you’ve filed several periods across multiple forms.

What each row shows #

PeriodThe return period the DAT file covers
FilenameThe generated filename, following BIR’s <TIN><Branch><Period><FormType>.DAT convention
RowsThe number of detail rows the file contains
Last updatedWhen the file was generated or last regenerated
ActionsDownload and Delete buttons

How do files get here in the first place? #

You don’t download a DAT file and separately upload it to the repository — QAP, SAWT, and RELIEF each auto-save the generated DAT file the moment an uploaded workbook passes validation and a valid file is produced. The repository is a read-and-manage view of files already created, not a place you manually add to.

What happens if you regenerate the same period? #

Generating a DAT file again with the same TIN, branch, return period, and form overwrites the previously saved file for that exact combination rather than creating a second entry — so re-uploading a corrected workbook for a period you already filed replaces the old file cleanly, with the “Last updated” timestamp reflecting the newer generation.

How do you download or delete a saved file? #

Click Download on a row to save that DAT file to your device — this requires a signed-in account, the same requirement as downloading a BIR Form 2307 certificate. Click Delete to remove a file permanently; a confirmation dialog names the exact file and warns that the action cannot be undone before it’s removed.

Frequently asked questions #

Which modules save files to the DAT Repository? #

QAP, SAWT, and RELIEF all auto-save a DAT file to the repository as soon as an uploaded workbook passes validation and produces a valid file — you don’t download first and save separately.

What happens if I generate a DAT file for the same period twice? #

Regenerating a DAT file with the same TIN, period, and form overwrites the previously saved file for that combination rather than creating a duplicate entry.

Do I need to be signed in to download a saved DAT file? #

Yes. Viewing the list works as a guest, but downloading a file requires a signed-in account, the same requirement as downloading a BIR Form 2307 certificate.

Can I see DAT files from more than one company at once? #

No. The DAT Repository shows files for the active company only; switch companies from the sidebar to see a different company’s saved files.

Summary #

The DAT Repository groups every QAP, SAWT, and RELIEF DAT file by module and form, auto-populated as you generate files rather than manually managed, with regeneration for the same period overwriting the prior file. Download requires signing in; delete requires confirming in a dialog. See QAP, SAWT, or RELIEF to generate a file, or the App Guide hub for every other module.
