BIR Online Tools is an independent web application and guide library for Philippine tax compliance. It helps accountants, bookkeepers, and businesses prepare BIR-compliant DAT files and generate tax certificates — including BIR Form 2307 and Form 2316 — directly from a browser. This blog publishes the guides and references that go with it.

What the app does #

The BIR Online Tools app turns the recurring, error-prone parts of BIR filing into a repeatable workflow. Set up a company profile once, then reuse it across every module:

  • DAT file preparation — convert Excel data into BIR-compliant DAT files for RELIEF (SLSP), QAP, and SAWT submissions, with validation before you download.
  • Certificate generation — create BIR Form 2307 (Certificate of Creditable Tax Withheld at Source) and Form 2316 certificates, with a live preview and the option to download or email them to payees.
  • A saved record — generated DAT files and certificates are kept per company, so past filings stay organized instead of scattered across your downloads folder.

What this blog covers #

The blog exists to answer real BIR filing questions clearly and accurately. Coverage focuses on:

  • BIR DAT files and bulk submission formats
  • BIR tax forms, including VAT, BIR Form 2307, and BIR Form 2316
  • eBIRForms, eFPS, and BIR filing workflows
  • Withholding tax, alphalist, SAWT, and QAP reporting
  • Filing deadlines, penalties, and regulatory updates as issuances change

Every article cites the relevant BIR issuance (RR, RMC, or RMO) when it states a rate, threshold, deadline, or rule, so you can verify claims against the source.

Who’s behind BIR Online Tools #

BIR Online Tools is built and maintained by an accountant with 25+ years of experience in Philippine taxation and payroll, who previously developed free Excel-based BIR tools used by accountants and businesses. The app is the continuation of that work: the same practical, filing-focused approach, rebuilt as a proper web application. Guides on this blog are written and reviewed with that same hands-on background.

Not affiliated with the BIR #

BIR Online Tools is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR). Generated DAT files should still be validated with the official BIR Validation Module before submission, and the guides here are general information, not personalized tax advice — for advice specific to your situation, consult a qualified tax professional.
